Freedom Sheath

$65.00

Throughout the Global War on Terror, it became a tactical trend for Special Operations personnel to secure a rolled-up 3’ x 5’ American flag on the back of their plate carrier or body armor with bungee cords, retainer bans, or zip-ties for a number of reasons.

The first is because an American flag is an excellent visual signal device to warn supporting close support aircraft that the person holding it or sitting next to it is a “friendly”, and its used to prevent fratricide when all other visual signal methods aren’t working.

The second is reason is because the American flag is a symbol of hope to many people all over the world, regardless of the current observed and assumed state of our country, and anybody wearing an American flag on their uniform or carrying it on their kit is a bad-ass human being that is willing to lay down their life for someone else’s Freedom.

However, with the advancement of optical and drone technology, as seen recently in Ukraine, and a greater requirement to reduce the warfighter’s visual signature, this old habit of attaching a flag to your kit is outdated, and is more likely to turn you into a target reference point for accurate sniper or machine gun fire.

It also makes no sense to have every single piece of your kit in the same matching camouflage, like Multicam, only to have that awesome matching camouflage gear disrupted by a rolled up “Old Glory” on the back of your rig.

Enter the “Freedom Sheath”. This small MOLLE pouch is designed to create a compact sheath to preserve and protect “Old Glory” in all her natural beauty from dust, debris and the elements so she stays clean and bright.

With a sleek design void of elastic straps or potential snag points that easily mounts on the back of any plate carrier or body armor system equipped with MOLLE webbing on the back, the “Freedom Sheath” is an ideal piece of kit for any Warfighter that wants to go into battle with “Old Glory” on his or her back.

This is a made-to-order item. Typical lead time for production is 1-2 days.
